The Clearwater Marine Aquarium Ruth and J.O. Stone Dolphin Complex is a expansive project includes five interconnected dolphin housing pools: four main pools in addition to one medical pool. These pools in total are 1.8 million gallons of saltwater that have both above water and underwater viewing for guests enjoyment. This habitat is currently housing 3 Atlantic bottlenose dolphins and 1 rough-toothed dolphin.
Satchell Engineering & Associates designed the aquatic Life Support System for this exhibit. We used a fine filtration system consisting of vertical sand filters and pumps, deaeration towers, ozone disinfection, chlorinators, backwash recovery, and heat exchangers. See Photo Gallery
