Saint Louis, MO
In 2015 Saint Louis Zoo opened the 40,000 square foot, state of the art Mc Donnell Polar Bear Point exhibit. With its natural substrate, and saltwater pools, the exhibit transitions seamlessly from sea to coastline to land. It offers polar bears the opportunity to enjoy swimming, diving, rock climbing and digging in the sand.
The Polar Bear Point exhibit has a 22 foot viewing window to allow its guest an up close and personal experience with the polar bears. There is also a walk-in cave that allows the visitors underwater viewing of the polar bears swimming in the 13 foot deep pool, holding 50,000 gallons of saltwater. See Photo Gallery
