Discovery Cove Park is located in a newly developed 50 acre parcel adjacent to the SeaWorld, Orlando park. The park facilities include a 1 million gallon swim-with Reef, a 2.5 million gallon swim-with Dolphin Exhibit, a Freshwater River Feature, and a Resort pool. The freshwater river was integrated in to the main pool and traveled through a bird aviary, caves, and heated alcoves, which all required special engineering to ensure project success.
Satchell Engineering & Associates designed the water treatment systems associated with the aquatic exhibits and pools. The innovative filtration, disinfection, precise fluvial hydraulics, and heat transfer engineering were major contributions to the economic feasibility in opening this park. See Photo Gallery
