Satchell Engineering & Associates provided design services for the holding facilities at the Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium. SE&A communicated with PDZA design team to determine the specific requirements for four (4) saltwater LSS systems. The project consisted of supporting the holding facility for a 26,700-gallon juvenile hammerhead tank, 11,800-gallon eagle rays’ tank, 4,700-gallon reservoir and a 5,000-gallon tea turtle tank.

Throughout the project, SE&A would have collaborated closely with the PDZA design team to ensure that the design of the saltwater LSS systems aligns with the specific needs and requirements of the individual tanks at the holding facility. The goal would have been to create a reliable and efficient LSS infrastructure that supports the health and well-being of the aquatic species housed at the Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium.
