University of Michigan presented Satchell Engineering & Associates with a challenge to provide temperature controlled chilling into their existing 150 flume system. These flumes are utilized in their research facilities, creating microenvironments of the Huron river and allowing the scientists to observe the effects of environmental stressors on this ecosystem. We were able to solve this issue with minor modifications to their existing flume tanks, such as introducing Automated controller systems to their laboratory in order to adjust and modify the water temperature in the flumes.
