Cocoa Beach, FL

Cocoa Beach Jr./Sr. High school opened their new aqua labs facility called the Aquadome. This state of the art facility is designed to support students interested in environmental and marine sciences, furthering their studies in agricultural industries.

Satchell Engineering & Associates designed the aquatic Life Support System for the 10 tanks housed in the Aquadome. These tanks are run on two separate Life Support Systems, split between freshwater and saltwater. The systems have very similar components, both using a fine filtration that consists of bio filters and pumps, bead filters and pumps, protein skimmers, UV sterilization, and heat exchangers. The defining difference between the two systems is the saltwater mixing tank that is included in the tanks using saltwater.
