Jacksonville Zoo and Botanical Garden’s recently opened their new Manatee River Exhibit. This 330,000-gallon freshwater exhibit was officially opened to the public on March 6th, 2026. This exhibit features three underwater viewing pools for guest to enjoy as well as four back of house pools utilized for rescue and rehabilitation of the manatees in residence. The back of house rehabilitation pools are also available to tour, allowing staff to share their mission of rescue, rehabilitation, and release. All the aquatic life support systems on this exhibit were designed by Satchell Engineering & Associates. We were honored to be a part of this project and look forward to seeing the success of the animals within the new exhibit. To read more about Manatee River’s opening day, Click Here.
