Satchell Engineering & Associates were contracted by the Pacific Marine Mammal Center to design an expansion for their Bob Barker Visitor Yard. The current visitor yard has four main viewing pools and three back of house pools. They would like to add three new pools in a staged construction, with the first pool to be constructed to be an isolation pool with its own designated life support system.

Satchell Engineering & Associates evaluated the current life support systems in place at the exhibit and determine was to upgrade and integrate the existing equipment into the new design, as well as completely design the isolation pool life support system. Both exhibits use a fine filtration system that consists of vertical sand filters and pumps, backwash recovery, ozone disinfection, off-gas destruct, chlorinators, and air cooled chillers.
