The SeaWorld Wild Arctic houses polar bears, now known as Expedition Odyssey, is home to a variety of different species. One of the species that used to be housed in the exhibit is the polar bear. This exhibit features ice rockwork surround the edges of the habitat and and underwater viewing area for guests.
Satchell Engineering & Associates designed the upgrades for the aquatic Life Support System. The system uses a saltwater backwash recovery system in order to reduce water usage throughout the exhibit. These upgrades included adding a vertical sand filter, associated pumps, and an addition backwash tank to the recovery system to decrease this water usage. See Photo Gallery
