The Roger Williams Park Zoo Face of the Rainforest exhibit house a variety of different animals native to the rainforest region. Some of the animals featured in this exhibit are the Chilean Flamingo and the Green anaconda. Satchell Engineering & Associates designed the aquatic Life Support Systems for these exhibits. In addition, Satchell Engineering & Associates also designed the Life Support Systems for the River Otter habitat that can be found in the World of Adaptations exhibit in the park.

The River Otter exhibit is a 9,000-gallon freshwater habitat that consists of two pools and a waterfall feature. The system uses a fine filtration system that consists of vertical sand filters and pumps, deaeration towers, ozone disinfection, off-gas destruct, chlorinators, and heat exchangers.

The Flamingo exhibit is 7,000-gallon freshwater pond that also has attached mud nests for the flamingo’s nesting seasons. The system uses a fine filtration system that consists of vertical sand filters and pumps, ozone disinfection, off-gas destruct, chlorinators, and heat exchangers.

The Anaconda exhibit is a 550-gallon fresh water tanks built for the comfort and behaviors of the anaconda. This system uses a fine filtration system that consists of vertical sand filters and pumps, UV sterilization, and heat exchangers.

Satchell Engineering & Associates also designed the Sunken Garden Stream found within the rainforest exhibit. The stream is 1,200-gallons of freshwater and uses a fine filtration system that consists of vertical sand filters and pumps, UV sterilization, and chlorinators. See Photo Gallery
