Dallas Zoo, Wilds of Africa: Hippos, is an expansive exhibit that contains a 120,000-gallon main pool, one 10,000-gallon holding pool, and two 5,000-gallon holding pools. Satchell Engineering & Associates designed the aquatic Life Support System that includes vertical sand filers, screen channel filtration, deaeration towers, ozone disinfection, off-gas destruct, and chlorinators.
