Satchell Engineering & Associates was contracted to create a Concept Design for the Grand Wailea Resort. This design revolved around their Humuhumu Lagoon, a water feature that encompasses the resort’s award winning restaurant with ocean views. This lagoon was indeed of upgrading for both the aquatic Life Support Systems and the rockwork surrounding the pool.
Satchell Engineering & Associates in tandem with other consultants proposed three new renovation projects to the resort: Reintroducing fish to the lagoon, reworking the lagoon to have water and light features, and doing a basic maintenance upgrade to the existing life support system equipment. These three proposals provided not only a variety of viable options to improve the lagoon, but also attempts to meet the resort at differing budget and timeline options that will work best for them.
