John Ball Zoo, Americas: North American River Otter is a 22,000-gallon freshwater exhibit that has underwater viewing and waterfall features for guests to enjoy. Satchell Engineering & Associates designed the aquatic Life Support Systems for this exhibit, using a fine filtration system that consists of vertical sand filters and pumps, deaeration towers, ozone disinfections, off-gas destruct, UV sterilization, chlorinators, and heat exchangers.
