The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo’s Tiger Passage is a 15,500 sqft exhibit that is home to the zoo’s two Amur tigers. The habitat was renovated to add four new roaming areas so they tiger had an expansive home to roam through. The exhibit also features a 3,200-gallon freshwater North pool, a 5,200-gallon freshwater South Pool, and 1,700-gallon shallow wading streams for the tigers to enjoy.
Satchell Engineering & Associates supported Cleveland Metroparks Zoo with their efforts to expand Tiger Passage, with the new exhibit planning to be five times the size of the old moated, grotto-style exhibit. We designed the aquatic Life Support System for the water features throughout the exhibit. The filtration consisted of vertical sand filters and pumps, UV sterilization, chlorinators, and heat exchangers for temperature control. See Photo Gallery
