Jungle Island is elaborate park filled with activities such as expansive playgrounds, treetop trekking, and animals encounters. Satchell Engineering & Associates designed the aquatic Life Support Systems for the Flamingo exhibit, Koi pond, and Capybara exhibit. Each exhibit has its own unique features and challenges to address to ensure the highest quality of filtration for the exhibits.

The Flamingo exhibit is a 45,500-gallon freshwater pool with a waterfall headbox feature that flows into the pool. The exhibit utilizes a fine filtration system consisting of pre-existing drum filters and pumps, vertical sand filters and pumps, ozone disinfection, and off-gas destruct.

The Koi pond contains two features, the 120-gallon tortoise pond and the 78,500-gallon Jungle River Koi pond that has four interconnected cascading pools and two pre-existing waterfall features that flow into the first of the four cascading pools. The system uses a fine filtration system that consists of vertical sand filters and pumps, ozone disinfection, and off-gas destruct.

The Capybara exhibit is a 14,100-gallon freshwater pool with above ground viewing for guests. The exhibit uses a fine filtration system that consists of vertical sand filters and pumps, deaeration towers, ozone disinfection, off-gas destruct, and heat exchangers.
