Miami Science Museum took on the task of creating a back of house facility for the care and rehabilitation of the aquatic animals they took in. This new project consisted of adding six 6′ tanks, two 8′ tanks, four 10′ tanks, three 20′ tanks, and one 40′ tank.
Satchell Engineering & Associates designed the aquatic Life Support Systems for this project. This exhibit added five new life support systems to their facility. The design utilized a fine filtration model that consisted of sand filters and pumps, bead filters and pumps, carbon filters and pumps, bio filters, GAC filter and pumps, packaged fractionators, ozone disinfection, and heat exchangers.
