The Marine Science Center in Volusia County is dedicated to the the rescue and rehabilitation of sea turtles in Florida. This research center is devoted to making the oceans a cleaner place for those who inhabit it. In order to perform their research, large amount of saltwater must be directed through the facilities regularly.
Satchell Engineering & Associates was contracted to perform a site evaluation of the Marine Center, locate a new site for a Beach Well to provide easy saltwater access to the facility, and perform a water quality test at the location to determine the best spot for this well to placed. The evaluations of the facilities allowed us to narrow down to three possible locations for the Beach Well and the water quality tests were performed at these locations to test the chemical composition of the water and the compatibility with the facilities systems.
