The Downtown Aquarium in Houston is home to the Tigers of Maharaja’s Temple exhibit, an indoor and outdoor habitat that houses three Bengal tigers. The exhibit is designed for both guest enjoyment and the tiger’s enjoyment with multiple viewing angles of the tigers and enrichment activities built into the pools and landscape.
Satchell Engineering & Associates designed the aquatic Life Support System for the outdoor pool in the Tigers of Maharaja’s Temple. The pool is a 2,500-gallon freshwater pool withe waterfall feature that cascades into the pool. The exhibit uses a fine filtration system that consists of vertical sand filters and pumps, and heat exchangers.
