L’Oceanografic was a design-build project for Europe’s largest aquarium complex consisting of 20 different life support systems with more than 11 million-gallons of saltwater water. Robert Satchell, founding member of Satchell Engineering & Associates, designed the aquatic Life Support Systems for this exhibit. Robert was one of the lead project managers as well as designed the treatment processes for the aquarium. The treatment process design included piping networks, hydraulic analysis, and automated controller software programming. He also developed project specifications and submittals, as well as provided on-site construction support during the build.
