The CuriOdyssey Science Museum & Zoo features a variety of different animals in their rotating daily animal presentations, spotlighting the unique species housed at the zoo. One of the species featured at the zoo is the North American River Otter.
Satchell Engineering & Associates created the concept design for the aquatic Life Support Systems for the North American River Otter exhibit. This exhibit is 13,000-gallons of freshwater featuring two pools and a waterfall that cascades into the upper of the two pools. The system uses a fine filtration system that consists of vertical sand filters and pumps, deaeration towers, ozone disinfection, off-gas destruct, and heat exchangers.
