Mauna Lani Resorts contracted Satchell Engineering & Associates to provide construction support for their Tidal Pond water feature. We provided a design build for the projected, aided by the contractors on sight. This build required modification to the inlets attached to the pond, the coffer dam on the west and east sides of the pool, and the rock work liners along the sides and bottom of the pond.
For the inlet, we were able to design a more secure base for the piping using ELL Brackets, blind flange caps, and stand pipes. The coffer dam was redesigned to ensure the top of the dam was the appropriate height above the water levels using sandbags, and the rockwork was redesigned to adjust with these shifts in the pond base.
